Scottish Independence Torpedoed PDF Print E-mail

Pipes

It looks like the wind has been taken out of the SNP bagpipes with a report that the promised referendum on Scottish independence is to be sunk according to this report from the Scotsman.

It goes on to say the SNP's plans for independence ballot branded it as 'fraudulent' and unlawful

JIM Sillars, a former SNP MP, has cast further doubt over plans for an independence referendum by claiming the policy has been rejected as illegal by official civil-service advice.

SNP plans for a referendum on independence have been in the spotlight over the past few days because of confusion as to when an SNP-led government would publish a bill on a referendum and when the referendum would take place.

Now Mr Sillars, a former deputy leader of the SNP who fell out with the party over its referendum plan, has published briefing papers for ministers which, he claims, show an SNP Executive would not be able to hold a referendum

Writing in The Scotsman today, Mr Sillars states: "Neither an SNP Executive nor the Scottish Parliament has any powers to hold a referendum on the constitution."

Victim Tax PDF Print E-mail

Wallet

Victims of crime are now being “stealth taxed” by the greedy government who set a limit of £105 to recover your stolen car and a hefty £12 a day to keep it on a compound.

If you offer to pick the vehicle up, the police will tell you “no”, it must be taken back to the compound for fingerprints.

The Police say they do not make any money out of this costly “victim tax”, we must ask, if the police are not making the money, then who is?

Again it is another unfair system that punishes the victim but not the offender; who would probably get a fine of less than £100, or just have their grubby thieving hands slapped and let back into the community to re-offend.

You can read more about Blair’s uniformed tax collectors in this article HERE

Why take more of this rubbish from people who have never cared nor intend to care about the ordinary citizen.

We need to teach them a hard lesson, vote your MP out at the next election, join us today and have a say.

IS THE GOVERNMENT ABOUT TO BLOW THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE APART?

Since the end of World War 2 the Labour Party has always claimed to be the guardians of our health service.

They have invested millions of taxpayers money into it, and guaranteed care and help to any one in firm, an invalid or unable to care for themselves.

We now hear from a very reliable source that they are about to close all Council Care Homes and Day Centres in Staffordshire.

Our local newspaper, the Burton Mail in today’s edition, will deliver this shock.

We are led to believe that in time this will happen all over the country. We eagerly await to see if this is correct, and the reasons put forward by the Ministry of Social Services.

Contempt PDF Print E-mail

PetitionThis shows just what contempt the government has for democracy and the public view. A Minister has dismissed the 600,000 road pricing petition as 'nonsense', while Downing Street said the Prime Minister had no intention of abandoning plans to tax drivers by the mile.

Yet in this article by the BBC it is said Downing Street said e-petitions were "proving to be a popular way for people to get their views heard".

It is obvious from what both reports are saying, is that, that Downing Street want to be seen as a wonderful listening department who are truly concerned with the publics concerns, but behind closed doors, they have a different agenda and could not care less about what you or I think.

Today the figure rose to 615,000 signatures, and is one of the largest petitions of modern times according to the Daily mail report, but it would seem to be a waste of time, Blair nor his “yes men” cronies are ever going to listen to the likes of you or I, and please don’t think the conniving Tories will be any different, they too have made moves to ensure your democracy is destroyed.

Meltdown PDF Print E-mail

HewettIs the NHS in crisis? We not only believe it’s in crisis, we say it’s in meltdown.

The once much prided UK health service has suffered terrible problems under consecutive governments, with the slashing Tory cut backs which had patients queuing for hours on end with some eventually dieing in corridors, to the failed citizens charter which put “those who shouted loudest” getting treatment while others were pushed to the back of a very long list.

We now have Hewitt Health, a complete disaster of throwing too much money at a system while watching the pencil neck paper shufflers, quango managers and private firms soaking the tax payer for every penny they can get.

We have patients who are being denied life saving cancer drugs, or drugs that are deemed “too costly” such as   Alice Mahon, 69 who is being denied an eye drug that would stabilise her condition.

Yet we have a scale of mismanagement that beggars belief when it comes to throwing money at schemes doomed to failure such as the £900m hospital building scheme that has not only cost the tax payer dearly, but will no doubt have a double effect of denying even more patients the treatment they need and deserve.

The public accounts committee said the government had left the Paddington Health Campus project to local managers who were "out of their depth".

The project, designed to merge three north-west London hospitals, was abandoned after costs rose by £300m. Health bosses thought it would be finished by 2006 but the projected costs more than doubled and the completion date slipped to 2013.

The North West London Strategic Health Authority withdrew the plans in June 2005 but only after £15m costs had been run up.

The MPs found that the Campus partners, overseen by the SHA which has now been scrapped, were imprudent in submitting a business case in 2000 which was "manifestly inadequate".

They said at that stage, health chiefs had not even consulted their own doctors and nurses and were thus unable to determine with any degree of accuracy the land requirements and likely costs.

On the NHS managers in charge of the scheme, it was said: "Their amateurism and incompetence in this field compounded the consequences of bad decisions made at the outset."
