We don't Apologise PDF Print E-mail

JapWhile the cringing politicians fall over their own spines apologising for something that happened over 200 years ago, we at the Popular Alliance say what the majority of people are saying about this media politically correct driven pointless and racist exercise, that we apologise for nothing that our ancestors did with regard to slavery.

Slavery has been going on since the beginning of time, and it is still going on today in many areas of the world, including the UK.

We do of course condemn such acts and find it a vile and evil practice that should be stamped out, however, we now have the compensation crew raising their ugly heads hoping to make a quick buck out of the misery of others and expect the British taxpayer to fund their sickening claims for financial gain.

Many people tend to forget that it was only 70 years ago, that a more sinister form of slavery was born in Europe, and that slavery cost the lives of 6 million being transported in cattle trucks to their painful deaths.

Let us remind the minority politically correct of some historic facts surrounding slavery and how some Muslim nations are even pushing for the re-introduction of slavery as well as carrying on the vile practice of using children as young as two for dangerous entertainment.

Slavery in the ancient cultures was known to occur in civilizations as old as Sumer, and found in every such civilization, including Ancient Egypt, the Akkadian Empire, Assyria, Greece, Rome, parts of the Roman Empire and the Islamic Caliphate. Such institutions were a mixture of debt-slavery, punishment for crime, the enslavement of prisoners of war, child abandonment, and the birth of slave children to slaves.

Slavery was an important element in the development of the ancient Greek City-states. Records of slavery in Ancient Greece go as far back as Mycenaean Greece. The treatment of Greek slaves could be said to be harsh, but not extremely brutal.

As Rome expanded outward, entire populations were enslaved, thus creating an ample supply. The people subjected to Roman Slavery came from all over Europe and the Mediterranean. Such oppression by an elite minority eventually led to slave revolts (see Roman Servile Wars); the Third Servile War led by Spartacus being the most famous and severe. Greeks, Africans, Germans, Thracians, Gauls (or Celts), Jews, Arabs, and many more were slaves used not only for labour, but also for amusement (e.g. gladiators). If a slave from Rome ran away, he was liable to be crucified. By the late Republican era, slavery had become a vital economic pillar in the wealth of Rome. Slavery was so common, the slaves in Rome far outnumbered Roman citizens.

The Vikings

In the Viking era starting c. 793, the Norse raiders often captured and enslaved their opponents. In Norway and Iceland the slaves were called Thralls (Old Norse: Þræll). The thralls were mostly from Western Europe, among them many Franks, Scottish, Irish and Anglo-Saxons. There is evidence of German and south European slaves as well. The Norse slavery came to an end with the breakthrough of Christianity and national laws in the Scandinavian countriesEngland's Doomsday book of 1086 indicated that 10 percent of the population was enslaved.

Africa

Europeans did engage in some slave raiding; the majority of people who were transported to the Americas were enslaved by Africans in Africa.

The Arab World and Middle East

The Arab world has traded in slaves like many other cultures of the region. It was one of the oldest slave trades, predating the European transatlantic slave trade by hundreds of years The Arab or Middle Eastern slave trade is thought to have originated with trans-Saharan slavery. The Moors, starting in the 8th century, raided coastal areas of the Mediterranean and Northern European (including British and even as far north as Scandinavian) coastal areas and would carry away sometimes whole villages to the Moorish slave markets on the Barbary Coast. Nautical traders from the United States became targets, and frequent victims, of the Barbary pirates, as soon as that nation began trading with Europe and refused to pay the required tribute to the North African states. The slave trade from East Africa to Arabia was dominated by Arab and African traders in the coastal cities of Zanzibar, Dar Es Salaam and Mombassa.

Male slaves were employed as servants, soldiers, or labourers by their owners, while female slaves, mostly from Africa, were long traded to Middle Eastern countries and kingdoms by Arab, Indian, or Oriental traders, some as female servants, and others as sexual slaves. Arab, Indian, and Oriental traders were involved in the capture and transport of slaves northward across the Sahara desert and the Indian Ocean region into Arabia and the Middle East, Persia, and the Indian subcontinent. As many African slaves may have crossed the Sahara Desert, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean as crossed the Atlantic, perhaps more. Some sources estimate that between 11 and 17 million slaves crossed the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Sahara Desert from 650 to 1900, compared to 11.6 million across the Atlantic from 1500 to the late 1860s. The Arab or Middle Eastern slave trade continued into the early 1900s

Many Slavic males from the Balkans and Turkic and Circassian males from the Caucasus Mountains and the eastern Black Sea regions were taken away from their homes and families and enlisted into special soldier classes of the army of the Ottoman Empire. These soldier classes were named Janissaries in the Balkans and Asia Minor, and Mamelukes in Egypt. The Janissaries eventually became a decisive factor in the intrigues of the Istanbul court of the Ottoman sultans, while the Mamelukes were mainly responsible for the expulsion of the Crusaders from Palestine and preventing the Mongols from entering Egypt.

The Arab trade in slaves continued into the 20th century. Written travelogues and other historical works are replete with references to slaves owned by wealthy traders, nobility and heads of state in the Arabian Peninsula well into the 1920s. Slave owning and slave-like working conditions have been documented up to and including the present, in countries of the Middle East. Though the subject is considered taboo in the affected regions, a leading Saudi government cleric and author of the country's religious curriculum has called for the outright re-legalization of slavery

Children as young as two years old are used for slavery as child camel jockeys across the Arab countries of the Middle East. Though strict laws have been introduced recently in Qatar and UAE - thanks to better awareness of the issue and lobbying by human rights organisations such as the Ansar Burney Trust - the use of children still continues in the far flung areas and during secret night time races.

South Asia

The Greek historian Arrian writes in his book Indica: "This also is remarkable in India that all Indians are free, and no Indian at all is a slave. In this the Indians agree with the Lacedaemonians. Yet the Lacedaemonians have Helots for slaves, who perform the duties of slaves; but the Indians have no slaves at all, much less is any Indian a slave." Though any formalised slave trade has not existed in South Asia, unfree labour has existed for centuries in the medieval ages, in different forms. The most common forms have been kinds of bonded labour. During the epoch of the Mughals, debt bondage reached its peak, and it was common for money lenders to make slaves of peasants and others who failed to repay debts. Under these practices, more than one generation could be forced into unfree labour; for example, a son could be sold into bonded labour for life to pay off the debt, along with interest.

Arab slave traders also brought slaves as early as the first century AD from Africa. Most of the African slaves were brought however in the 17th century and were taken into Western India.

Much of the northern and central parts of the subcontinent were ruled by the so-called Slave Dynasty of Turkic origin from 1206-1290: Qutb-ud-din Aybak, a slave of Muhammad Ghori rose to power following his master's death. For almost a century, his descendants ruled presiding over the introduction of Tankas and building of Qutub Minar.

China

Slavery in China has repeatedly come in and out of favour. Due to the enormous population of the region throughout most of her history, China has relatively had an almost unlimited workforce of cheap labour. Thus, the economy would naturally rely on a system of serfdom, slavery, or a combination of both.

Japan

Slavery in Japan was, for most of its history, indigenous, since the export and import of slaves was restricted by Japan being a group of islands. The export of a slave from Japan is recorded in 3rd century Chinese history, although the system involved is unclear. These slaves were called seiko (生口, seiko?), lit. "living mouth".

In the 8th century, a slave was called nuhi (奴婢, nuhi?) and series of laws on slavery was issued. In an area of present-day Ibaraki Prefecture, out of a population of 190,000, around 2,000 were slaves; the proportion is believed to have been even higher in western Japan.

By the time of the Sengoku period (1467-1615), the attitude that slavery was anachronistic had become widespread. In a meeting with Catholic priests, Oda Nobunaga was presented with a black slave, the first recorded encounter between Japanese and an African. In 1588, Toyotomi Hideyoshi ordered all slave trading to be abolished. This was continued by his successors.

As the Empire of Japan annexed Asian countries, from the late 19th century onwards, archaic institutions including slavery were abolished in those countries. However, during the Pacific War of 1937-45, the Japanese military used hundreds of thousands of civilians and prisoners of war as forced labour, on projects such as the Burma Railway.

Korea

Indigenous slaves existed in Korea. It is widely known that the last names "Bang", "Ji", and "Chuk" are recognizable as last names having once been given to slaves. Slavery was officially abolished with the Gabo Reform of 1894.

Aotearoa / New Zealand

In traditional Māori society, prisoners of war became slaves, (unless released, ransomed or tortured). With some exceptions, the child of a slave remained a slave. As far as it is possible to tell slavery seems to have increased in the early Nineteenth century, as a result of increased numbers of prisoners being taken by Māori military leaders such as Hongi Hika and Te Rauparaha in the Musket Wars, the need for labour to supply whalers and traders with food, flax and timber in return for western goods and missionary condemnation of cannibalism. Slavery was outlawed on English Annexation of New Zealand in 1840, immediately prior to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, although it did not end completely until government was effectively extended over the whole of the country with the defeat of the King movement in the New Zealand Wars of the mid 1860s.

USA

In 1830, approximately 3,775 Black US people owned 12,760 slaves. One in ten free black household heads owned at least one slaveThe level of slave exports grew from about 36,000 a year during the early 18th century to almost 80,000 a year during the 1780s.

The Angolan region of west-central Africa made up slightly more than half of all Africans sent to the Americas and a quarter of imports to British North America.

Approximately 11,863,000 Africans were shipped across the Atlantic, with a death rate during the Middle Passage reducing this number by 10-20 percent.

As a result between 9.6 and 10.8 million Africans arrived in the Americas. About 500,000 Africans were imported into what is now the U.S. between 1619 and 1807--or about 6 percent of all Africans forcibly imported into the Americas. About 70 percent arrived directly from Africa.

Well over 90 percent of African slaves were imported into the Caribbean and South America. Only about 6 percent of imports went directly to British North America. Yet by 1825, the U.S. had a quarter of blacks in the New World.

The majority of African slaves were brought to British North America between 1720 and 1780. (Average date of arrival for whites is 1890)

Conclusion

To coin a well know political phrase, it appears slavery is a "global" phenomenon and not just the British and Americans, it appears there are some other bad boys on the block, not forgetting our old friends the Germans and the Japanese who inflicted terrible agony on their slaves with many dieing a long painful death.

We ask Tony Blair, will he get the Nordic countries apologises to our families here in the UK for using our ancestors as slaves, the Vikings did like to rape, pillage and kill, but they also liked their slaves as well.

Then again, Blair’s open door policy is responsible for creating a new breed of slave as gang masters and illegal sex trade workers are allowed to flood into the UK unabated to be treated to a new life of misery , beatings and torment while Blair and his corrupt masters within the EU crawl on their knees apologising to every pc minority whilst ignoring more important issues of the democratic majority.

The Popular Alliance would like to stop the current slave traders who engage in people trafficking by giving judges the power to jail people-smugglers for life, please see our immigration policy HERE

Servicemen Rot - Politicians Gorge PDF Print E-mail

SASThere are 15 of our servicemen being humiliated by a despot nation that can snatch our people with impunity and stick two fingers up to Blair and his criminally inept organisation, whilst the clowns and court jesters of the British Government prostrate themselves before their political master and dictators of Europe. They feed from the trough with snouts well buried in billions of pounds of British tax payers money, stuffing their lying mouths with good food and drink, toasting the complete failure of 50 years corruption and waste of a fraud ridden European Union.

The Popular Alliance would have thought our military incompetent government would have learned its lesson from 2004 when 8 servicemen and three expensive boats were captured by the violent Islamic terrorist training Iran. Alas, it appears Blair is incapable of learning any lessons whatsoever; again our forces are woefully under equipped carrying out patrols with unarmed boats and no back up or helicopter gunship cover.

Whilst half the Royal Navy is in mothballs, Aircraft Carriers not being built, useless armour and protection, no fast torpedo boats, air gun ships or backup, is it little wonder that a third rate crackpot force just comes along and scoops up our people without a shot being fired.

There used to be a time when the mere mention of the SAS would send shivers down an Iranian spine, after their botched attempt at taking hostages in London, the SAS wiped them out and no crackpot regime has dared attack us until the soft, spineless, appeasing, gullible Labour government came into power.

With devastating cuts to the military budget, our forces have been left to rot with no real commitment or political leadership to ensure our men and women receive the best equipment, training and support. All Blair has done is allow the US to dictate what wars we fight - and fought we have, unfortunately very badly, thanks to the shoestring cost cutting policies.

With Europe soaking up our money, is it little wonder we cannot afford new ships, equipment and support. The £15 Billion a year we pay to the fraudsters would buy 4 aircraft carriers which would be more than enough to put real fear into despots and keep them away from our people who are doing a United Nation’s legitimate job.

We would also say, a well-timed raid by the SAS would not go amiss. This would not only restore some pride back into our downtrodden forces, it would send a quick sharp reminder to the Muslim mullahs, there will be no hiding place and you could certainly die if you mess with our people again.

Alas though, the Popular Alliance knows that any such undertaking would have the minority politically correct jellyfish slithering from under their stones and crying out their apologetic bile.  Our politicians will be removing their spines and holding them up with white flags attached in the hope of appeasing the likes of the Muslim Council of Britain who will undoubtedly say that this latest “attack” on the Muslim world will inflame the “community” back in the UK and that our foreign policy is breeding terrorism.

Finally, Happy 50th Anniversary to the fraudsters, criminals and corrupt officials, please don’t concern yourselves about spending our money (We do include those in UKIP) who are feeding their faces whilst our people are languishing in some stink hole because of you.

SNP Suicide Note? PDF Print E-mail

warningAlex Salmond comes clean about the first 100 days of SNP rule, if it happens, come the May 2007 elections.

He revealed at the SNP party conference that he intends to pick fights with Westminster on a number of fronts when he becomes First Minister, if he wins the election in May.

At a recent round of poorly attended SNP business meetings across Scotland, it was obvious that Jim Mather - Economic Guru, Model Politico, had little understanding of the existing political structure of the European Union and its grasp over UK government. At one meeting in particular attended by just a handful of mystified business people from the Highlands of Scotland, he exampled the success of Norway as a reason for staying in the EU after devolution from the UK

He clearly demonstrated he did not realise that the main relationship Norway had with Europe was as a 1960 Member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and as a sensible country had opted out of the straight-jacket constraints of full EU membership.

Following the rejection of EU membership by the population of Norway in the referendum of 1994, the then government declared that there would be no new initiative in this respect for at least ten years, and the Stoltenberg-government, which took office on 17 October 2005, has stated that it will not apply for Norwegian EU-membership during its term in office.

Jim Mather also appeared to be in need of a calculator as the true cost of administering and controlling Scotland after independence had escaped his cost list spread sheet.

The SNP leader has now published a programme for government for the first 100 days of an SNP administration.

The document detailed what the SNP would demand from Westminster and amazingly comes just a short while after main sponsor Tom Farmer, of Kwik Fit fame urged caution and counselled a need for the SNP Party to prove its ability to govern in the eye of the public for a few years prior to going for separation from the UK.

The list includes handing over control of North Sea oil and gas reserves to Scotland, giving the Executive power over all firearms legislation, getting back £40 million in benefits, and putting the Scottish Executive in charge of all fisheries negotiations with Europe. The UK government has objected to all these issues in the past and would inevitably do so again.

This would lead to a series of confrontations between the governments in Edinburgh and London - a development that, it appears, Mr Salmond would be looking forward to.

It is now clear that Mr Salmond's tactic is to provoke disputes with the Labour government at Westminster, drawing attention to what he sees as the limitations of the devolution settlement and giving him the chance to push the case for independence.

“I want a more mature relationship with the government of the UK - a relationship of equals," Mr Salmond said,

His determination to publish a white paper on an independence referendum within his first 100 days in office was well known.

But this is the first time the SNP leader has announced his more immediate plans to cause conflict with Westminster.

Mr Salmond gave a speech to the SNP conference in Glasgow insisting he was ready to work with a Gordon Brown-led administration in London on a number of areas, including "green energy" and "action on poverty".

But he also made it clear that he was willing to fight Westminster as well. He said: "As First Minister, I shall co-operate on all these matters [environment and poverty] and many more. It is in Scotland's interests, and it is also our recognition that we must build credibility as a government, and in government, as we seek to take Scotland forward.

“However, a line has to be drawn. We cannot have a majority of Scottish MPs voting against new weapons of mass destruction and that vote ignored by Westminster."

The replacement of Trident was the one issue flagged up by Mr Salmond in his speech as a source of conflict between Westminster and Holyrood but it became clear later, with the publication of the programme for government, that there are many other issues which Mr Salmond wants to challenge London on.

Labour
seemed delighted with the SNP's announcement because Labour leaders have been warning for months that an SNP administration would lead to incessant conflict with Westminster - and now the party leader has all but admitted it.

Andy Kerr, for Labour, said the document proved that the SNP would deliver "constitutional conflict".

The SNP's document stated: "An early priority of an SNP government will be to begin discussions with the UK government on options for the transfer of responsibility for our oil and gas resources to the Scottish Parliament."

It had always been known that an SNP administration would look to get control of oil and gas resources, but only under independence.

It is now clear that Mr Salmond wants to start the fight over control of oil revenues the moment he gets into Bute House.

The document also stated: "One of the first acts of the SNP in government will be to demand urgent meetings with the UK government so we can recover the £40 million in attendance allowance lost as a result of the Department of Work and Pensions response to the introduction of free personal care."

This £40 million has been in dispute between the Executive and Westminster ever since the introduction of free care for the elderly, but the UK government has refused to budge. There is no indication it would change its position for an SNP-led administration.

The government programme document also stated that an SNP Executive would "begin early negotiations with Westminster" to transfer responsibility for firearms to Holyrood, allowing the Scottish Parliament to take tougher action on airguns.

The SNP also wants to make Scotland's civil service independent of Whitehall and put Scottish ministers in charge of the UK's fisheries negotiations with Europe.

Under the SNP plans, within 100 days Scottish ministers would also begin meetings with Westminster and the European Commission to press for the creation of a European renewable and low-carbon energy research centre to be based in Scotland, and ideally in Aberdeen.

Firm targets promised on cutting carbon emissions

An SNP administration at Holyrood would introduce a climate change bill setting mandatory targets for cutting carbon emissions of 3 per cent a year, delegates heard last week.

The pledge came from Richard Lochhead, the SNP's environment spokesman, who said that Scotland could go "much, much further" than Westminster's current plans for tackling climate change.

He said: "We must not and will not move forward at a snail's pace, but instead lead Europe's response to global warming."

Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP's Holyrood leader, told the conference on Saturday that a Nationalist administration would pioneer a "carbon offset" scheme, under which the environmental impact of each policy would be assessed and offset elsewhere.

“So our commitment to a new Forth road crossing will go hand in hand with increased investment in our railway," she said.

Mr Lochhead said an SNP administration would have a target of cutting emissions by a minimum of 80 per cent by 2050, and create a post of climate change minister.

“Our bill will also introduce a range of measures to promote renewable and clean technology and measures to promote energy efficiency."

An SNP administration would also install micro renewable energy forms, such as roof turbines or solar panels, on government buildings and hospitals, and in every school in Scotland

Green campaign group Friends of the Earth Scotland welcomed the speech

Its parliamentary officer, Chas Booth, said: "We warmly welcome the commitment to year-on-year cuts, which sets the benchmark that the other big parties must rise to"

Summary:

SNP seem to need a magic wand for Mr Salmond's policies, and a calculator for Jim Mather to make the SNP's costs add up.

The Coming War with Islam PDF Print E-mail
HellWe turn our attention to Islam and conflicts with Western Culture amidst the backdrop of Iraq, Iran, Syria and Israel. We were looking for the human story and the reasons why the conflict seems to be getting steadily worse, rather than the political "sound bites" and "spin" we all see day after day in the media.

Despite the $Billions that have been thrown into the war against Al Quaida and the thousands killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the problem is getting worse - no question...

So, our thoughts were to try to identify the root causes at ground level to explain the reasons for hundreds of Islamic followers giving their lives in suicide missions that defy all logic, but are an every day fact of life, not only in Iraq, but a growing menace across Europe and many other countries.

Then one of our researchers found this very thought provoking story on the net...

The Coming War with Islam

By Solly Ganor

FrontPageMagazine.com | March 15, 2007

Five years ago, I had a conversation with a young Palestinian student who in short precise terms explained how Islam will defeat the West. The conversation opened my eyes to a much larger picture in which Israel plays only a minor role in the Islamic game of conquest. Since then I tried to speak to some Arabs who come to pray at the Mosque, but they were not as outspoken as the student.

Last week, I had another conversation with an Israeli Arab construction boss by the unlikely name of Francis who was in charge of building a villa near our house in Herzelia. He told me that his family was Christian, and his name was given to him in honor of the Franciscan monks. Our conversation was as interesting as the first conversation I had with the Arab student five years ago and I would like to share it with you. Francis frequently parked his car near our house and we would exchange polite greetings.

About a week ago, the water was shut off for repairs in the house he was building, and Francis asked me if I could give him some hot water for his coffee. He was a tall man of about forty, with reddish hair and blue eyes. He spoke a perfect Hebrew, and I naturally became curious about him. I felt that he may the right person to exchange some views with. By his looks, I assumed that he was either a Druze or from the Syrian region. He looked more like a teacher than a construction worker and, as I later found out, he was actually a teacher by profession. Since my conversation with the student five years ago, I was always curious to hear their side of the story; therefore, I decided to invite him for a cup of coffee to our house. I saw him hesitate for a moment; then he smiled and thanked me for my hospitality.

While we drank our coffee, he told me that he was from a small village in the Galilee called Jish, near the present Kibbutz Sassa. I remembered the village very well as I was one of the soldiers who captured the village while serving in the 7th Armored brigade during the War of Independence in 1948. I decided not to tell him about it because at the time we encountered some stiff resistance at that village and quite a few of the inhabitants were killed.

He went on to tell me a little about himself. “For a while I was a teacher and I loved teaching, but I couldn’t make a living at it and I decided to join my father in law who is in the construction business.” Judging by the large Honda he was driving, I figured that he didn’t do too badly changing his profession.

Our conversation soon turned to the present situation in the Middle East, about Hamas winning the elections, the situation of the Israeli Arabs, and the last Lebanese war against Hezbollah. “As Christians we are in a difficult situation here in Israel. Unfortunately, the Moslems and especially the extreme Islamist section, are giving the tone here. My family who lived in Bethlehem probably since the Crusaders, had to flee for their life. The Moslems have been forcing us out, by threats and even murder. Bethlehem that was once predominantly Christian is now predominantly Moslem. Very little is written about it even in the Israeli press.”

He sipped his coffee and gave me a long look. He seemed like someone who wasn’t quite sure whether to say what he was about to say. I gave him an encouraging nod.

“I have to tell you something which very few of you seem to comprehend.” He continued, “Your bungling war against a few thousand Hezbollah fighters which you should have crushed no matter what, considering the importance of the outcome, has created a completely new situation, not only for this area, but globally. Your inept leadership totally misunderstood the importance of winning this war."

“As a matter of fact, the whole Moslem world, not only the Arabs, simply couldn’t believe that the mighty Israeli Army that defeated the combined Arab forces in six days in 1967, and almost captured Cairo and Damascus in 1973, couldn’t defeat a small army of Hezbollah men. As usual the Moslems see things the way they want to see things. Most think that the present generation of Israelis have gone soft and can be defeated."

“The American bungling of the war in Iraq only added to their conviction that victory not only over Israel but also over the West is not only possible, but certain. The ramifications of these two bungling wars may bring an Islamic bloody Tsunami all over the West, not only in Israel. The sharks smell blood and these two wars gave them the green light to attack sooner than they had in mind. Your problem is that you are on the defensive and they have the option to choose the time and the places when and where to attack and there is nothing much you can do about it. When will you Westerners realize that half measures don’t work with people who are willing to die by the thousands for Allah to achieve their goal? In their eyes the Western World is simply an abomination on earth that has to be wiped out.”

He spoke quietly and I could just picture him in the school giving his students a lecture. I poured him another cup of coffee and encouraged him to continue.

“The Americans, the Europeans, and even you Israelis really don’t know what it is all about, do you? During the last generation hundreds of thousands of children have been taught all over the Moslem world in Madrass schools to become martyrs for Allah in order to kill the infidels. These youngsters not only are ready to do it, but are actually in the process of doing it. Bombs are going off all over the world killing and maiming thousands of people, not only on 9/11 in the US, in London Madrid and Bali, but in Africa, India, Bengladesh, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and many other places. The first signs of the Islamic Tsunami is already here, but the West doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to understand what is coming."

“The Americans, instead of realizing that this is as bad as World War Two, or even worse, are going to pull out of Iraq, handing it over to Iran on a silver platter. Next may come the Saudis and the rest of the Gulf states. When dirty bombs go off all over Western towns, who is going to stop the Iranians?"

“Now is the time to stop them, not only because they are developing nuclear bombs, but because Iran has become the base for all Islamic terrorist. They supply, money, men, and weapons to Islamic terrorist around the world, quite often through their diplomatic mail. Billions of petro-dollars that are pouring into Iran are being funnelled into terrorist organizations world-wide. They believe, and perhaps rightly so, that the West will do nothing to stop them in achieving their goals. Is history repeating itself? Are the Iranians making the same mistake that Hitler made when he attacked Poland? Is the situation similar?"

“As a history teacher who studied the subject thoroughly I can tell you that Western victory in World War Two was not all certain. Hitler could have won the war if he would have gone ahead with the atomic bomb development before the Americans. The Germans began working on it in the thirties, and it was Hitler’s decision to prefer building more conventional arms, as he considered atomic weapons sheer fantasy. Hitler made the wrong decision, but had he made the right decision the world would have been a different type of world today, wouldn’t it? The West won the war against Hitler by sheer chance. Very few people seem to realize that.”

I must say that his last words shook me up quite a bit. Had Hitler made a different decision, I would have died in Dachau, there wouldn’t have been a Jewish state called Israel, and most likely there wouldn’t have been any Jews left in the world. The idea that the Western democracies in general and the fate of the Jewish people in particular could have hinged on Hitler’s one decision, is a scenario of the worst nightmare.

He notices that his last words had an effect on me, and he smiled. “I see that my words are not wasted on you,” he said dryly. I nodded, and he continued with his lecture. “Coming back to our time, the Iranians rely on the West doing nothing about their development of nuclear bombs. They also rely on their secret weapon: an inexhaustible supply of Islamic suicide bombers, some of them who are already planted all over the Western World. Besides the Islamic countries that supply these suicide bombers, a second front has been opened, and that is the Internet with more than five thousand Islamic web sites, brain washing and urging young Moslems to become martyrs for Allah. They especially target young Moslems who live in Europe and the West in general. The Western intelligence authorities consider these web sites a bigger threat than the Iranian atomic bomb. Al-Qaeda recently issued a television broadcast that promised a devastating attack against its enemies this spring. As we all know, Al-Qaeda doesn’t make empty threats."

“Actually, I don’t understand why the Iranians bother to develop atomic bombs and bring the whole world down on them. Every suicide bomber is a potential atomic bomb, or a biological, chemical or dirty bomb that can be no less devastating than an atom bomb. The Americans and Europeans have no defence against this type of war."

“What can we do against this type warfare?” I asked him. “Well, you Israelis, should better prepare yourself for another round against Hezbollah. It will not be long in coming. It depends on the Iranians to give the word. This time you will have to destroy Hezbollah no matter what the cost may be."

“Of course, your next round against Hezbollah may involve the Syrians and the Iranians against you. The Iranians declared that they will not allow Hezbollah to be defeated no matter what and may launch their missiles against you. So will the Syrians. What will Israel do? It is unlikely that Israel will accept its destruction and may use their nuclear arsenal if the West will not come to their help. Perhaps our book of Revelation is not so wrong in describing that the end of the world would start at Armageddon, which we know as Har-Megiddo in Israel. The book of Revelations describe the last battle would be fought at Armageddon between the “Forces of good and the forces of evil.”

“And who would you call the forces of good ‘Israel or Islam?’ I asked looking him straight in the eyes. He gave me a startled look. “If I were a Moslem, I would have no problem to name the forces of good and it wouldn’t be Israel. As a Christian, I would probably name Israel, but as a Christian Arab I would prefer not to answer.”

We looked at each other. His answer made it clear where the Israeli Arabs stood, whether they were Moslems or Christians. And why should I be surprised? After all the Israeli Arabs call the establishment of the State of Israel their nakbah (disaster).

Is there a way to avoid the “Armageddon”?

“I think there are two ways to avoid it. One can be a major war which the West can win. As in World War Two, had the West attacked the Germans in 1936 the war would have lasted not more than a month with very few casualties. Their procrastination resulted in World War II with all its consequences. Eventually, the West will have to tackle the Iranians, it is better that they do it now to avert a world catastrophe later. With Iran defeated the Islamic onslaught will lose its base, and it may be the turning point in history to defeat the menace of extreme Islam. The majority of the Moslems don’t want this confrontation anyway.”

“You are painting a rather dark picture. When do you think we will have the next round against Hezbollah?” I asked. “I think they will attack again as soon as they are fully re-equipped and I think it will be during the summer, while Israel is still in a military and political turmoil.”

For a while, we sat in silence. He finished his second cup of coffee and got up. “I know what I am going to do. I am going to Canada to join my brother. This country is becoming much too dangerous for Christians as well,” he said. He thanked me for the coffee and we shook hands.

“You said there are two ways to avoid Armageddon?” I remembered to ask him.

“Sure, all the West has to do is follow Putin’s ways. He assassinates his enemies without blinking an eye. Assassinate the four or five Mullahs who run the show, Ahmadinejad, and a few more Iranian fanatics, and the War can be avoided. It may be difficult to do, but not impossible. With today’s hi- tech technology I am sure that new weapons against individuals are being prepared right now. I think it would be a better way of handling the matter than an all out war against Islam.”

The conversation with Francis was not more encouraging than the one I had with the Palestinian student five years ago. It was becoming clear that Israel may be on the forefront for the coming war of the West against Islam, unless we follow Francis’ suggestion to assassinate the heads of the snake, rather than going to war with Islam.

EU Price too High to Pay PDF Print E-mail

BlairIT costs the British taxpayer more than £1,700,000 an hour in up-front payments to belong to the European Union – making it one of the mostly costly and wasteful clubs in the world.

Since Britain first signed up to the Common Market in 1973, our MPs have given close to £200 billion to the unelected commissioners in Brussels.

That is the equivalent of four years total spending on the National Health Service (at 2002 prices).

To put this figure in perspective, just £1 billion would pay for:

  • 222,000 hip replacements
  • Or 46,893 nurses
  • Or 38,782 teachers
  • Or 34, 585 police officers.

Surrender

Rather than defend Britain's interests, Tony Blair in December 2005 agreed to a new 2007-2013 budget which surrendered an additional £7.1 billion of the British rebate to Brussels.

At the time, he said this was necessary to: 'Transfer wealth from rich countries to poor countries and to invest in Eastern Europe'.

But the government's own figures show that inequalities in wealth within Britain have grown under Labour - so, wouldn't it have been better to keep the money in Britain to spend on our own poor, rather than to send it to Brussels to subsidise wealthy French farmers?

More and More To the EU

Rather than declining, Britain's contribution to the EU is constantly increasing. The latest official accounts show that our net contribution to the EU in 2005 was £ 6.1 billion, an increase of 20% on the £5.1 billion our MPs gave away in 2004.

Our gross contribution in 2005 was a record £15.0 billion, up 15% on the 2004 figure of £ 13.1 billion.

This is equivalent to £289 million per week, or £41 million per day, or £1.72 million per hour.

Hidden Costs

These figures are for the direct payments we make to belong to the European Union. But there are other, hidden costs that we have to pay. These make the bill much, much higher. Which may be why this and previous governments have refused to provide the voters with a detailed breakdown of what it really costs us to belong to the EU.

For that we have to rely on independent academics. A recent report by the Bruges Group, for instance, estimated that the total – direct and indirect – cost of belonging to the EU is close to £52.5 billion.

This additional cost is made up of the burden of regulation, the impact of subsidies on prices, and the effect of hidden tariffs.

The Burden of Regulation

According to Global Britain's Ian Milne, the rock-bottom cost of EU regulation on the British economy is £6.3 billion. A more reliable estimate, according to Milne, puts the true cost closer to £20 billion.

Milne has also calculated the cost of the Common Agricultural Policy, which accounts for the bulk of EU spending. While he puts the rock bottom figure at £7 billion, he thinks a more accurate figure is closer to £15 billion.

These telephone number sums are hard to comprehend – just like most things to do with the European Union – but they amount to huge transfers of British taxpayers' income to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. This might not be so bad, if the money were spent well.

Fraud and Waste

But the reality is that much of this money is either wasted or lost in fraud.  For the last 11 years the independent Court of Auditors has refused to ratify the European Union's accounts because they could not be sure they were accurate.

If the EU were a private company, the board of directors would now be behind bars, the business wound up and the creditors paid off. But this is the European Union and little, if anything, can stand in its way.

Even now, after countless financial scandals, the EU does not have a simple accounting mechanism for recording assets and liabilities correctly.

A Catalogue of Errors

In the 2004 accounts, for instance, the number of errors was so high that the auditors could not vouch for spending streams that covered 93 per cent of expenditure.  Under the common agriculture policy, for instance, the auditors found that structural funds totalling about €70 billion were affected in some way by errors.

According to Conservative MP and chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Edward Leigh: 'Estimates of fraud (in the EU) range from between 7 per cent and 10 per cent of the total EU budget.' That means 'it could have been as high as almost €10 billion for 2003 alone.' The Commission, of course, puts the figure much lower at about 2 per cent, but even that is almost €2 billion.

'Whatever the exact figure, the problem of fraud is immense. The situation has surely gone on long enough,' Leigh concludes.

'In 2002, my own Committee published a scathing report on a notorious fraudster, a farmer called Joseph Bowden, who claimed against the common agricultural policy for different crops on the same piece of land and went on to give fictitious co-ordinates for some of the fields for which he was claiming.

'If those claims had been examined by experts, or anyone with a map, it would have been discovered that the fields were apparently in Greenland, the North Sea and the Norwegian sea. He received a 30-month jail sentence as a result and new controls were imposed, but at the time he got away with it because controls were obviously lax in the then Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food'.
