BBC under EU Threat PDF Print E-mail
BBCIt would appear the Popular Alliance has found the real reason as to why the BBC makes very little noise about the EU and rarely reports on EU corruption, sleaze and criminal activity.

We also seem to have the reasoning behind why the BBC hardly ever reports on eurosceptic political parties in the UK and Europe as a whole.

The BBC is under threat of being wiped out by the EU along with any other state broadcaster in Europe under unfair competition rules.

The Popular Alliance has just found the following report from the EU Observer

The European Commission has public television and radio stations within its targets once again, this time with the launch of a public consultation on the future of state broadcasters.

The commission announced the consultation process on Thursday (10 January). It marks the start of a comprehensive review of the state of the sector since the adoption of its 2001 broadcasting communication.

The commission said in a statement that it hopes the review will build on the fundamental principles of the financing of public service broadcasting as laid down in European Community law, but also be able to clearly define what a public service mission is and limit state aid to "what is necessary for the fulfilment of this mission."

Competition commissioner Neelie Kroes said: "There are many ways the present broadcasting communication can usefully be improved to increase transparency and legal certainty."

Brussels hopes to explore the role of public broadcasters in the new media environment. Specifically, it would like the process to investigate what it terms "overcompensation" and "cross-subsidies for commercial activities" by public broadcasters.

This is not the first time the commission has put public funding of broadcasters under its competition microscope. In 2005, EU regulators warned German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF that the receipt of monies from the German government was not in line with EU law forbidding subsidies that damage competitors.

Ms Kroes launched a probe into the state funding of the two German public broadcasters after receiving complaints from private television stations who claimed the use of public monies for services that compete with them – in particular their ventures into the internet - was unfair.

Although concessions from the broadcasters resulted in the investigation being closed a year later, the probe shocked state broadcasters across Europe at the time, concerned that it was the beginning of a full-frontal assault on public radio and television, and that their services would soon go the way of public railways or public water in much of the EU.

In the last few years, public service broadcasters such as the BBC in the UK, NOS in the Netherlands, and ARD and ZDF in Germany have repeatedly come under attack from their commercial rivals, who hope European competition regulations can be used to begin to dismantle the decades-old structures of state financing of these organisations.

In response to the announcement, a BBC spokesperson said it boiled down to a question of "whether EU guidelines published in 2001 on the application of state aid rules to public service broadcasting need to be revised in the light of jurisprudence and technological change."

"We welcome the opportunity to respond and will be making a submission in due course."

The Popular Alliance commented that the BBC would obviously reply that it would welcome the opportunity to respond, but would the BBC ever risk making, or reporting a “negative” news story on European politics and risk the wrath of this unelected monstrosity who may decide to close them down. The EU does not need any carrots to persuade state television or media to be pro EU, it already has a very big stick to ensure they comply with their every wish or command.

Failures of 2007 PDF Print E-mail
BrownDear reader, firstly we would like to say hello and welcome to 2008, a new year in politics and no doubt a new year of catastrophic failures and spin by the tired and washed up Labour, Conservative and Libdem parties .

Lets recap on some of the endemic failures and mismanagement of our elected government and jobs worth MPs / MEPs who spend our money like there is no tomorrow (and hopefully there will be “no tomorrow” for many of them if the Popular Alliance has anything to do with it)

No 1 on our list has to be the blatant lie and disregard by Gordon Brown and his useless sponging cabinet in not allowing a Labour manifesto pledge to hold a referendum on the “constitution” despite being confirmed as the “constitution” by almost every political leader in Europe.

Brown and his pip squeak Milliband have done everything in their power to lie, cheat, and lie again on this manifesto pledge, and quite frankly think the British people are fools.

Barren policyman Cameron who is really just a clone of Tony Blair has made a few noises to appease his eurosceptic MPs but has neither the bottle nor the political will to take the fight to Brown and has always shown himself to be just another pro European who like his buddies in Labour and the Lib Dems cannot wait to offload the responsibility of running the UK to the corrupt, criminal and fraudulent EU bureaucrats.

No 2 Really proves just how incompetent the ministers of this government really are. How on earth can a government department lose 25 million records with peoples personal data contained?

This incident then bought forth a whole string of revelations that not only is our data not secure, other government departments have lost thousands of details and records in the past and no one thought to tell us about it despite identity theft being at an all time high.

To add insult to injury, we were then treated to Browns brainless weasels appearing on every conceivable media channel trying to tell us that the proposed ID card scheme and the NHS central database are going to be safe in their fumbling hands.

No 3 OH dear oh dear, how about this for contempt of the British people. Does this loser really think we will forget.

Brown had the audacity to publicly say recent scandals to have hit the government, such as data loss and proxy donations, will be "quickly forgotten" as reported in this article HERE

However, no less than a month later we find that another of his wet weasels has been up to no good with donations saying he was too busy to notice at the time because he was working on the Northern Ireland deal, taking over as Work and Pensions secretary as well as being involved as the Welsh secretary and the Prime minister tells us he has every confidence in Mr Hain who cannot even look after his own finances properly without making a complete pigs ear of it and Brown expects us to trust this incompetent no hoper.

So brown gets it wrong again, his woes are not quickly forgotten and we the British people should never let them forget, nor will we forget all Conservatives who have not jumped on the sleaze because of their murky past and no doubt even murkier future, Nor will we forget the crime loving Lib Dems who want to be the criminals friend by letting them all out and grant amnesties to every thing and everyone.

At the end of the day, we all know when politicians get into trouble, no matter what party, they rally round and ensure their own backsides are covered and then award themselves inflation busting pay rises and take every penny they can get in expenses, whilst the normal hard working people pay for their lack lustre performance and misconduct yet have to find the money to pay for all the stealth taxes and rip off fuel and energy bills.

No 4 Who can ever forget the humiliation of Des Browne and his total lack of commitment to the armed forces. This man not only mothballed haf the fleet and sent our forces to war with useless cheap and nasty equipment, he then allowed the Iranians to humiliate the government and every man woman and child in the land.

A part time minister who made a real mess of the armed forces and continues to do so.

No 5 This shambles is set to run on into 2008 as Gordon Browns successor plunges the nation into rack and ruin and no doubt a recession that will affect millions of British people while ministers blame the “global” economy

We first had warning signs with the Northern Rock incident, Darling threw billions of our money at the thing, He blamed the credit crunch from America, everyone else blamed Browns credit card economy that has been running for the past eleven years. We then noticed Peter Hains welfare reform coming just in time to shaft millions of people who are due to become unemployed due to mass migration, cheap labour and the ever looming recession, but there can be no worries for the bogus asylum seekers, criminals, terrorists, hateful Islamic preachers and illegal immigrants as they will no doubt receive generous benefits with all the help, housing, money and transport they require due to the pc brigade screaming human rights abuse from the rafters; and as for mass migration from the EU, they will all try to claim their benefits from their countries of origin once the work dries up.

Not to worry though, those who still have jobs will be fleeced for even more tax, the EU will soak billions of pounds in stealth tax from the nation to pay for the EU wide recession and pump it into eastern Europe and Turkey when they join the cash cow system and our MPs and MPs will still be awarding themselves massive increases in pay, pensions and expense accounts.

As the author of this blog, these our my personal Top 5 nasties of 2007, let us know what your Top 5 are in the forum section and I will be sure to print them on our blog.

Who will run our nation PDF Print E-mail
StalinAs devolution in Scotland moves ahead with a wholly different package of free services for people than in England and Wales, we see Tory MP Malcolm Rifkind pressing for English-only issues to be voted upon by only English MPs, which then begs the question about what Cowdenbeath MP Gordon Brown will have to busy himself with all day, once he hands the rest of the decisions regarding the running of the United Kingdom, to the European Union.

The picture that many people paint of McGordon is one of a control freak and we could not have a clearer image of his inability to listen to anyone else than during House of Commons open sessions where he is clearly unable to accept that another breathing human being might have an idea different to his own, at which he becomes very flustered and unprofessional.

So, with this in mind, how can he bear handing over more power to the EU ? It is completely out of character for this stubborn man. He has waited 10 years for the Bliarman to step aside, only to tell us that we should accept being ruled by Brussels – and that goes for him as well – has he thought this through fully, we ask.

That’s as may be for us fools who obviously do not deserve democracy in McGordon’s eyes, but how is he going to accept being told what to do by Frau Merkel and a bunch of faceless tax hoovers, pontificating from Euroland ?

As we have said before, McGordon is being bullied by the EU. If indeed he performs at EU summits as he does in Parliament, then we really are in for a shock, if and when they get more of their slimy hands on our nation.

Local Parish polls are going ahead in the UK demanding the democratic rights of Referendum. Has any issue ever seen such moves in the rural heartlands ? Even whilst so many try their level best to ignore politics, it is great to see that some people do care about issues beyond the next winner of X-Factor, as described by the son of two Polish doctors, who couldn’t face another day at school on Tyneside and moved back to Poland. It seems Simon Cowell is succeding where our Home Office fails !!

Whether McGordon bothers to acknowledge the unearthing of Parish Polls is yet to be seen, but we believe that the best way to oppose us being sold to Europe is to badger our local MPs with demands that they stand up for a Referendum on the EU Constitutional Treaty when McGordon tries to push his package of Eurotrash through Parliament, in the process, denying us the very democracy that he has our troops fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan. Perhaps his own interpretation of democracy is in line with that of Animal Farm ?

Gordon Brown, you are a very dangerous man, with a very complex inconsistency disorder, working in a job that is scaring the hell out of many of the citizens of the United Kingdom. We suggest that you go and exercise your Scottish right to see a doctor in Cowdenbeath and take a long course of free prescription, fair play tablets, followed by a long holiday somewhere very far way.

We hope that those who have a Labour MP will copy and paste the below letter and get as many people to forward this as possible :-

Dear…..

Re : EU Constitution / Treaty

At the last General Election, you were elected to the House of Commons on a manifesto which contained a promise of a referendum on the above issue.

I understand that an all party coalition of MPs is now launching a nationwide campaign to hold a referendum on the EU constitution / treaty.

Whatever personal views you hold on the EU, I would suggest that this matter is of such far reaching national importance (our continued existence as a nation state is in the balance) that the British people must be allowed to decide for them themselves, whether or not this constitution / treaty is signed.

As one of your constituents, I would ask you to honour the promise made in your manifesto.

Yours…..

And if your MP is from another party, then please copy and send this letter :-

Dear…..

Re : EU Constitution / Treaty

As you will be aware, there are widespread demands among MPs, UK businesses and the general public for a referendum to be held on the EU Constitution / Treaty.

Whatever personal views you hold on the EU, I would suggest that this matter is of such far reaching national importance (our continued existence as a nation state is in the balance) that the British people must be allowed to decide for them themselves, whether or not this constitution / treaty is signed.

As one of your constituents, I would ask you to :-

i) Campaign for a referendum

ii) Vote against any attempt to force this constitution / treaty through the House of Commons in the absence of a referendum

Yours……

Craig Chapman
