Without co-operation none of the minor parties can ever make a significant breakthrough in National Politics. They need to merge and grow and become a party for the electorate to believe in.
The leader of the Popular Alliance, Brian Buxton stood in the County Council Election for East Staffordshire- Horninglow and Stretton.
Despite the fact that he was up against the big party machines and an ex Tory Councillor who became an Independant he achieved a very respectable 437 votes. (10% share) There was also a huge surge of people voting for the Tories to guarantee Labour got a bloody nose which did the Popular Alliance no favours.
However, this is a good platform and one that we should be proud of.
All we need now is for the general public to realise that they should start looking beyond the tree main traditional parties.
We should vote for what we believe in and if we cannot find it in the Tories, Labour or the Liberal Democrats then we should all look elsewhere.
