 This shows just what contempt the government has for democracy and the public view. A Minister has dismissed the 600,000 road pricing petition as 'nonsense', while Downing Street said the Prime Minister had no intention of abandoning plans to tax drivers by the mile.
Yet in this article by the BBC it is said Downing Street said e-petitions were "proving to be a popular way for people to get their views heard". It is obvious from what both reports are saying, is that, that Downing Street want to be seen as a wonderful listening department who are truly concerned with the publics concerns, but behind closed doors, they have a different agenda and could not care less about what you or I think. Today the figure rose to 615,000 signatures, and is one of the largest petitions of modern times according to the Daily mail report, but it would seem to be a waste of time, Blair nor his “yes men” cronies are ever going to listen to the likes of you or I, and please don’t think the conniving Tories will be any different, they too have made moves to ensure your democracy is destroyed.
