Brian BuxtonPopular Alliance was formed by a group of ordinary people - not politicians - who deplore the state of our country and the manner in which it is governed. We represent the millions of voters who have seen that their views are ignored by the entire political establishment, and that no-one speaks for, or listens to them.

It is clear that the three main political parties follow the same agenda, with policies that are virtually identical, leaving the electorate with no real choice whatsoever. Furthermore, they will NOT 'Grasp the Nettle' by addressing the vitally important issues that matter to people in this country.

Popular Alliance has a clear constitution which sets out the democratic way in which we run our party. We have produced a series of core aims and a set of fair and moderate policies which reflect our stance on :-

LAW AND ORDER. The rapidly increasing incidences of murders, rape, gang, gun crime and drugs coupled with the bad management of many of our police forces leave the police presence on our street woefully stretched.

TAXATION AND GOVERNMENT SPENDING. We are now the highest taxed nation in the E.U., having overtaken Germany. There is bound to be a further rise in our level of taxation to fund the uncontrolled massive increase in the numbers of government and civil service employees.

ENERGY AND POWER. Thanks to the willful neglect of the previous two governments to put in place policies to free us from almost total reliance on unstable Middle East countries and Russia for oil and gas, our pockets are being further stretched by ever higher heating bills.

ENVIRONMENT. Our energy and transport policies contain bold and radical wealth-producing initiatives which move away from the short-sighted European approach of merely increasing household charges and making the motorist pay more.

DRUGS. There is a need to focus on tackling drug abuse and trafficking amongst our schools and young people, and to increase the number of rehabilitation units and their level of funding.

IMMIGRATION AND MIGRATION. The ever increasing rate of migration puts a strain upon our dedicated teachers, police, nurses and doctors in their daily battle to do a good job. School progress is slowed, hospital waiting lists get longer and more acres of greenbelt land are gobbled up for housing. In our cities, racial ghettos are developing, creating inequalities and widening the gap between rich and poor.

EUROPEAN UNION. Under the present government, the surrender of our independence, national identity, democratic rights and freedom of speech to the unelected commissioners in Brussels has accelerated even more.

DEMOCRACY. Over the last thirty-five years more and more power has been taken from our Parish and Borough Councils and transferred to central government or unelected Regional Assemblies. This is wrong, and undemocratic.

Our constitution and detailed policies are available on our website, or by post. If, having discovered more about what we stand for, you share our views and would like to help us achieve our aims, do please consider joining us. You will receive a warm welcome.

We know that there are many people who genuinely feel that the major parties no longer represent their views. Equally, we know that there are many other small parties who share our moderate views and aims. We feel that, by combining our strength and skills, our love of Great Britain and our dedication to restore our country to a proud, independent nation, our small parties must work together to become a force to be reckoned with. With this in mind, we invite all small parties to meet us and talk.

When the crisis comes - as it surely will - it will take a party of true conviction, who is unafraid to 'scare the electoral horses' to sort things out. With your support, Popular Alliance can be that party.
