PA Umbrella Groups

Without co-operation none of the minor parties can ever make a significant breakthrough in National Politics. They need to merge and grow and become a party for the electorate to believe in.

VoteGreat Britain is being destroyed by a Parliamentary Dictatorship, when it should be leading the world towards True Democracy.

Those who currently wield real power are like misers, they hate sharing what they hold with the electorate.

Worst of all are politicians whose idea of democracy does not go beyond saving their seats at the next election.

Basically, there are two types of politician, viz, those who refer to the people to ascertain their views and then ignore them completely, and secondly the group that ignores the public and makes unilateral decisions.

The Popular Alliance believes that such action demonstrates the utter contempt and arrogance of politicians for real democracy.  By way of highlighting this it should be recognised that only ONE DAY in 4 YEARS can the electorate decide which party will form the next government.

Following a General Election the British people have no say in the day to day making of rules / laws under which they are governed.  In effect the electorate is rendered impotent to influence any decisions or laws in respect of which they may be strongly opposed.

It must now be blatantly obvious that the three traditional mainstream parties no longer exist, except in name only.

On the majority of important issues facing the nation the current policies of all the above parties are so closely aligned that effective or alternative choices are denied to the electorate.

This is leading to the rapid collapse of democracy which will eventually result in a one party state.

As set out below,

Popular Alliance with your help and support would restore REAL ACCOUNTABLE DEMOCRACY TO THE BRITISH PEOPLE.

The Popular Alliance would always offer the British people a referendum on any major constitutional issue eg

( I )  The signing of treaties which hand over Sovereign powers to outside organisations such as the European Union.

( 2)  Capital Punishment.

( 3 )  Reinstate the charge of Treason into British law.

( 4 )  The repeal of the Treaty of Rome, resulting in our withdrawal from the European Union.

Other important issues which are part of our policies and would be dealt with by way of speedily introduced legislation are as follows,

( 1 )  ID.Cards and all the associated creeping state controls would be abolished.

( 2 )  Repeal of the Human Rights Act

( 3 )  The restoration of the House of Lords and the Privy Council having in mind the very positive role both institutions have played for centuries as guardians of democracy.

( 4 )  Popular Alliance would speedily restore the Civil Service and the Police back to their traditional roles of impartiality, fairness and independence from government.

( 5 )  The salaries of Ministers and Members of Parliament would be fixed by an independent tribunal which would also scrutinise the levels of expenses claimed by MP’s.

( 6 )  Road Tolls, if introduced, would be abolished together with the attendant increases in State Control and loss of our democratic rights.

( 7 )  Freedom of Speech would be guaranteed by law.

Popular Alliance would ensure that Ministers of all Departments of State would be required to take personal control of their departments and assume direct responsibility for the implementation of agreed policies.

Failure to do so would result in the Minister concerned facing disciplinary charges to be heard and adjudicated on by an independent tribunal.Where large amounts of taxpayer’s money are wasted, this could result in a criminal charge.

The only exception to the above would be the continued independence of the Intelligence Services and the conduct of Military Operations.

The mechanism for the operation of independent referenda is currently under consideration, and the experience of other countries where referenda is successfully operated eg. Switzerland is being investigated.

It would need to be a secure and foolproof  system which would enable any citizen to trigger a referendum subject to the required level of support being obtained.

Gordon declares he is WYSIWYG

Well what we have seen is what we got:

  • An unelected PM with a dubious management style
  • A disastrous Pension crisis
  • Broken manifesto promises - No EU referendum
  • 3 times disgraced minister resignation - reinstated as a Lord and pseudo PM
  • Introduced more stealth taxes than any other chancellor in history
  • Sold UK gold reserves at the bottom of the market ignoring expert advice not to
  • Masterfully convinced people that they are “better off under Labour” even though each family now pays more than £5,000 in extra tax, compared to 1997
  • Etc, the list goes on. See
