One day to Polling Day and the position in Stretton and Burton upon Trent is as follows.
Brian Buxton our party leader and Craig Chapman have been canvassing very hard over the past three weeks in Stretton. Every house has received a top quality colour leaflet containing information about Popular Alliance, the candidates and their manifesto. Inside the leaflet was a flier showing twelve good reasons to vote for Popular Alliance. The shopping centre and all roads leading into the village have a prominently displayed poster, and on the last two Saturdays we had our election table in the shopping precinct meeting the voters. On these days sterling help and support were given to us by fellow member Earl Hollow. Brian states, As Staffordshire County Council wish to close our Care Homes and Day Centres for the elderly, and all the spin and stealth taxes lumped on us, Labour, to put it mildly, is a dirty word here. The Conservatives normally have a good traditional following here but have been very low key and seem to be taking voters for granted. This year we have no Lib/Dem candidates, last time round we had two. We hope all this bodes well for us and Popular Alliance, fingers crossed for Thursday.
